  1. Part 1 of 2: Just some added thoughts, if you All will allow. Thought I'd inform you that "otherism" was made up by the supposed left (academic supremacy), for, there's no one that isn't other to everyone else; this mechanism gives people the ability to organize others thoughts and actions- yet, it's also a kind of soft-brainwashing in and of itself. Yes, separation is an illusion, yet, as all life we have the responsibility to defend ourselves, meet our needs, survival at minimum, if not alival. So, there's a natural state of competition that's indemnic to being life we do no one any good to intellectualize or 'love' away; as we actually can't in reality. It's sad your friend is so inclined, yet, there are two overiding factors that are sadly salient, yet, not considered when listening and trying to understand others. They are that our capitalist technocratic society is like a machine in one sense, it grinds people up and eats them or spits them out; so people after reaching 18 and adulthood have approx. 40 good years, and this is evident to everyone, more so with computers, social media- adding an existential angst to our modern experiences and life that didn't really exist in previous generations. Second, with the knowledge that humanity's extinction is visible on it's horizon, racing towards us from our future, necessitates each of us, individually, to reach one and teach one to turn 360 degrees around back to the evolution and the future; humanity will only have if we do. That existential angst added to the previously mentioned one realizes an added psychic weight on us few are aware of, and it effects us all in differing ways; people like Marianne and her supporters are directly addressing in a most somatic, wholistic way. Yes, that's natural for our times, yet, we can effectively struggle with people who think that way. For e.g., their "hate for socialism" is easy to struggle against, for the V.A., central to many repubs lives, is socialistic, as is Medicare, Social Security, FDR's 'New Deal', public education, etc.; thus allowing a softening of their perspectives, if not their rhetorical positions. I also agree to a degree, that we must struggle for the moderates and independents too; for allowing the supposed left, the totalitarian socialist, anarchist conspiracy to drive our progressive candidates too far left in the primary will have a deleterious effect in the General election against our king-kong sized terrible-two. You said, "After studying ACIM ... It says we can only ever choose to see things through Holy Spirit or ego.". I disagree, for, psychologically speaking, yes, we have a 'super-ego', and an 'id', which would be Freud's equivalent of your two supposed opposite states that everything must fall into. Yet, as individuals it's healthy for everyone to have a healthy 'ego', what isn't healthy is the necessity and develpment of the false-ego that can possesss a person to no end- eventually realizing complete self-possession, necessitating exorcism for a person to regain their true, inner-self, etc..... 2. Part 2 of 2: As well, overly saturating one's self in trying to discern and propagate what's the 'holy spirit' and how it should operate in our lives can lead to not only many spiritual, religious, psychic missteps (for inaccurately following a path of study by a millimeter will eventually mislead one to be off by a mile), yet, also supposedly direct one to attempt to diminish others rights and personal integrity by in effect, if not in actuality, proselytizing. You say, "...Trump is a strong symbol of listening to ego almost 100% of the time. Whereas Jesus is a symbol of listening to Holy Spirit 100% of the time. Trump has no vision because he is totally wedded to how it is or was - which is why he wants to ‘make America great again.’ - Because he compares today to back sometime in his youth and that is all that matters." Yet, I don't think it's as black and white as that. The maga rhetoric is just that, he's destroying this country as he has his entire life to get more for himself- not attempting to make anything great. Yes, projecting him and Jesus, Marianne, etc., are 'opposites', and therefore the best remedy to The Donald's extremist 'meism', is a great organizing tool, yet, not accurate; for there's no such duality, and certainly human beings, like Trump and Jesus wouldn't fit into any intellectualized duality anyway. For e.g., to suggest all these things about Trump, like Marianne does when she asserts he's manipulating and directing "dark forces", is attempting to demonize him; not that he doesn't deserve it- for he does. But, he's actually not a warlock, or practitioner of dark arts, he's just a guy who wants extremely more than others and more than he ever did. Not at all complicated, yet, he does have adept advisors who know how to 'use' simple division and conquering to get whatever they want out of the news cycle and whatever they want into the news cycle, acquire more $ and tax dollars frunneling to republicans, etc.- which makes him a political opponent that can't be underestimated. So RumputiN/vlad-the-impaler can't possibly be operating in ego thinking almost 100 % of the time, he just isn't capable of doing such a thing as "almost 100 %" of anything ever; as well, maybe Jesus operated 100 % in the "holy Spirit", yet, how would you know; the Roman Catholic imperial Church projections of what Jesus said aren't actually true a majority of the time, yet, they did say he doubted his Father in his last minutes of life, probably falsely crying out, "Father, why have you forsaken me", etc.- detailing he could have only been in the "Holy Spirit" 99.999 % of the time. These end decades of humanity, if we don't stop the extinction, demand as much accuracy as we can muster; time's short, the hour's late, no? reality
